New Delhi, March 17 -- Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge on Tuesday condemned the reported airstrikes in Kabul that led to a large number of civilian casualties, describing the incident as a "horrific loss of innocent lives" and an act that must be rejected globally.

In a statement posted on X, the Congress president said that, on behalf of the Indian National Congress, he was "deeply distressed by the horrific loss of civilian lives in Kabul following the recent airstrikes by Pakistan on a hospital which killed nearly 400 people.""We condemn such act against humanity in the strongest possible terms. Such barbarism must be strongly rejected globally," Kharge said, calling for international outrage over the incident.
