Thiruvananthapuram, Feb. 20 -- Kerala Fibre Optic Network (KFON), the State government's flagship internet connectivity initiative, has crossed a major milestone by surpassing 1.5 lakh subscribers, marking a significant step in Kerala's drive toward universal digital access.

The project has steadily expanded its footprint across Kerala, bringing high-speed internet connectivity to tribal hamlets, remote island regions and other geographically challenging areas.

Conceived as part of the government's efforts to bridge the digital divide, KFON aims to ensure affordable and reliable internet access to households, institutions and government offices throughout the State.
