Thiruvananthapuram, Jan. 5 -- Leader of the Opposition in the Kerala Assembly, V.D. Satheesan, today said he was deeply moved by media reports highlighting the suffering of nine-year-old Vinodini, who lost her right hand following an alleged treatment error at the Palakkad District Hospital.
Satheesan said that immediately after the incident came to his attention on Friday, Vinodini's family was informed that the entire cost of fitting a prosthetic hand would be borne. Acting swiftly, arrangements were made to bring the child from Palakkad to Kochi on Saturday morning.
He said Vinodini underwent all necessary medical examinations at Amrita Hospital, where measurements for the artificial hand were taken.
