Thiruvananthapuram, Feb. 5 -- Senior Congress leader and former Mavelikara MLA M. Murali passed away while undergoing treatment at a private hospital on Thursday. He was 73.
Murali is survived by his wife Prof KS Rama Devi, a former teacher at Devaswom Board College, and their sons Dr Mithun, Mridul, and Mrinal.
Murali had gone to the hospital on Wednesday evening for a routine medical check-up, during which his condition deteriorated. He reportedly lost consciousness and later passed away, family and party sources said.
Murali was the state chairman of the Rajiv Gandhi Panchayati Raj Committee and a member of the KPCC Working Committee at the time of his death.
