Thiruvananthapuram, Feb. 13 -- Kerala has taken a bold leap toward gender equality with the approval of Women's Policy-2026, setting the stage for a fully women-friendly and gender-just society. The policy modernises the 2009 framework, addresses emerging challenges, and envisions a "Navakeralam" where safety, rights, and economic empowerment of women are central to the state's development agenda.

Special focus has been given to women in tribal and coastal regions, as well as to addressing issues related to labour rights, legal safeguards, and social equity, Health and Women & Child Development Minister Veena George said.
