Bengaluru, May 1 -- The family of a 19-year-old Kerala nursing student found dead in his Bengaluru hostel room has alleged that he was publicly humiliated by a faculty member after being wrongly linked to drug-related activities in the hostel.
The deceased, identified as AP Adithyan, was a second-year BSc Nursing student at BTL School of Nursing in Bommasandra and hailed from Aruvikkara in Kerala's Thiruvananthapuram district.
According to Bengaluru Police, Adithyan was found hanging in his hostel room on Wednesday afternoon. Police said preliminary investigation points to suicide, while further probe is underway.
