Thiruvananthapuram, Jan. 21 -- Kerala Minister for Cultural Affairs Saji Cherian on Wednesday expressed anguish over what he termed a deliberate distortion of his recent remarks, which were projected as being against a particular section of society.
He said such a portrayal was contrary to the secular values he has consistently upheld throughout his public life.
In a statement, the Minister said the ongoing campaign questioning his intentions had caused him immense personal pain, as it sought to undermine his lifelong commitment to secularism.
He stressed that his public life has been guided by the belief that all human beings must be treated equally, irrespective of caste or religion, and that he has always worked with this spirit.
