Thiruvananthapuram, July 31 -- : Kerala has launched 'Operation Soundarya', a statewide crackdown on the illegal sale of misbranded cosmetics and unauthorized pharmaceuticals.
During the months of June and July, the Kerala State Drugs Control Department conducted eight special drives, focusing on identifying and prosecuting offenders under the Drugs and Cosmetics Act and related laws, said Health Minister Veena George.
"Operation Soundarya aims to ensure that only safe, effective, and high-quality cosmetic and medicinal products are made available to the public. It targets illegal traders involved in the sale of misbranded cosmetics, unauthorized pharmaceuticals, and expired medicines."
