Thrissur, Aug. 6 -- The Kerala High Court today directed the National High Way Authority of India to immediately stop collection of toll charges at Paliakkara toll point, on the Edappally-Mannuthy high way, passing through Thrissur district, for four months citing failure to traffic congestion in the area.

The directive follows a public interest petition heard by the court last month, during which the bench had warned that if the situation did not improve within a week, it would be forced to intervene and stop toll collection. Despite the assurance given, the NHAI failed to resolve the issue even after three weeks.
