New Delhi, Sept. 26 -- The Kerala High Court today dismissed the State Government's appeal challenging an interim order that stayed the notification constituting a Commission of Inquiry into allegations connected with the sensational gold smuggling case.

A Division Bench comprising Justice Sushrut Arvind Dharmadhikari and Justice Syam Kumar V.M. upheld the earlier interim order passed by a Single Judge on August 11, 2021, which had stayed the State's notification dated May 7, 2021. The notification had set up a Commission to probe an audio clip allegedly linked to accused Swapna Suresh and a letter by accused Sandeep Nair, which alleged coercion by Enforcement Directorate (ED) officials to implicate political leaders.
