Kannur, March 15 -- CPI(M) Polit bureau member and Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan will contest again from his sitting constituency, Dharmadam in Kannur district-often described as the party's "red bastion"- in the April 9 Kerala Assembly election.
DYFI State secretary V K Sanoj will make his assembly poll debut from the CPI(M) stronghold Mattannur constituency.
Meanwhile, CPI(M) Central Committee member and former Health minister K K Shailaja has shifted from Mattanur to Peravoor as part of the party's strategy to wrest the seat from the Congress-led United Democratic Front(UDF). The sitting MLA and Kerala Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) president Sunny Joseph is the UDF candidate in Peravoor.
