Kochi, Jan. 16 -- The Kerala government is firmly committed to supporting small-scale industries operating at the household level, Electricity Minister K. Krishnankutty said while inaugurating the India International Industrial Expo (IIIE) 2026 here on Friday.
Addressing the gathering, the Minister announced a major policy decision to move nano and household-level industries out of the industrial electricity tariff category and include them under the domestic tariff bracket, providing significant relief to small entrepreneurs.
He said the government had succeeded in creating an industry-friendly environment by ensuring uninterrupted power supply, noting that there had been no power cuts or load shedding in the State for the past 10 years....
