Thiruvananthapuram, Jan. 12 -- Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan on Monday launched a scathing attack on the central government, accusing it of systematically strangling Kerala financially by denying legitimate funds, withholding grants, and sharply curtailing the State's borrowing limits, forcing Kerala into a struggle for its economic survival and constitutional rights.

Inaugurating the LDF's day-long Satyagraha at the Palayam Martyrs' Mandapam here, the Chief Minister said the Centre had, without any justification, withheld more than half of the funds due to Kerala in the final quarter of the current financial year.
