Bengaluru, Jan. 29 -- Karnataka Energy Minister KJ George on Thursday dismissed rumours of his resignation, asserting that he continues to enjoy the confidence of Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and remains firmly in office.

The clarification came amid speculation triggered by allegations that the Chief Minister's son and MLC, Yathindra Siddaramaiah, had interfered in the functioning of the Energy Department.

Media reports had suggested that George was unhappy over the issuance of a notice by Chief Secretary Shalini Rajneesh to Pankaj Kumar Pandey, Managing Director of the Karnataka Power Transmission Corporation Limited (KPTCL), and that this had led to talk of his resignation.
