Bengaluru, Jan. 23 -- The Karnataka Legislative Council witnessed repeated disruptions on Friday, leading to four adjournments amid allegations that senior Congress MLC BK Hariprasad had insulted Governor Thaawarchand Gehlot.

Following the turmoil, the proceedings of the Upper House were adjourned till January 27.

Council chairperson Basavaraj Horatti ordered that Hariprasad's conduct be referred to the Ethics Committee after BJP MLCs submitted a formal complaint against him.

Horatti also rejected Hariprasad's demand for a discussion on the alleged insult to the national anthem by the Governor, who, according to the Congress leader, had walked out of the House without waiting for the anthem to be played.
