Bengaluru, March 25 -- The Karnataka High Court on Wednesday quashed an FIR registered against spiritual guru Sri Sri Ravi Shankar in connection with alleged land encroachment in Bengaluru.
A single-judge bench of Justice M Nagaprasanna, while allowing the petition, held that the continuation of criminal proceedings against the petitioner was not tenable in law, as the FIR did not disclose specific material attributing direct acts of encroachment to him.
The court also noted that the proceedings appeared to have been initiated based on general observations in the PIL without establishing individual culpability.
