Bengaluru, Jan. 26 -- The Congress-led Karnataka government has decided to allot government gomala land valued at approximately Rs 255 crore to 22 mutts belonging to Dalit and backward communities in Bengaluru, despite strong objections raised by the Finance, Law and Parliamentary Affairs departments.
The land, located in Ravutthanahalli and Dasanapura areas of Bengaluru North, falls within the limits of the Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP). The decision was taken by the government last week.
According to reports, the Finance, Law and Parliamentary Affairs departments had flagged serious concerns, stating that the land falls under the gomala category and cannot be transferred or allotted to private institutions or organisations....
