Bengaluru, Jan. 22 -- Karnataka Governor Thawarchand Gehlot walked out of the Karnataka Legislative Assembly on Thursday after reading just two lines of his speech during the special session on MGNREGA, prompting a sharp political exchange between ruling Congress and opposition BJP leaders.
Congress leader BK Hariprasad was seen trying to stop the Governor as he exited the House.
However, Gehlot objected to specific paragraphs referring to the controversial legislation aimed at overhauling the MGNREGA scheme, arguing that the speech amounted to government propaganda.
