Bengaluru, Feb. 4 -- Governor Thaawarchand Gehlot has ordered a probe into allegations of corruption at Karnataka State Open University (KSOU), appointing a one-man fact-finding committee headed by retired Karnataka High Court judge BA Patil.
The inquiry follows claims of bribery and irregularities against the former registrar (administration) of KSOU, which had triggered a protest by university employees in March 2025.
The terms of reference for the probe include appointments of temporary teaching and non-teaching staff beyond sanctioned posts, changes in designations, creation of posts without state government approval, and the opening of unnecessary regional centres.
