Bengaluru, Jan. 26 -- The ruling Congress party in Karnataka will organise a 'Raj Bhavan Chalo' march on Tuesday to protest the proposed discontinuation of the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MGNREGA).
The announcement was made on Monday by Deputy Chief Minister and Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) president DK Shivakumar at the party headquarters in Bengaluru, following Republic Day celebrations.
Shivakumar said, "It is deeply concerning that a scheme launched in Mahatma Gandhi's name is being discontinued. This will directly affect people's right to work.
