Bengaluru, Feb. 10 -- The simmering leadership tussle within the ruling Congress in Karnataka has flared up again, with party MLA Iqbal Hussain openly objecting to remarks by Congress MLC Yathindra Siddaramaiah and renewing demands that Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar be given an opportunity to lead the state.
Speaking to a section of media on Tuesday, Hussain criticised Yathindra Siddaramaiah, son of Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, for publicly stating that the Congress high command had cleared his father to continue as Chief Minister for the full term. Hussain said such statements violated party discipline and risked embarrassing the leadership.
