Bengaluru, Feb. 23 -- Chandru Lamani, Bharatiya Janata Party MLA from Shirahatti Assembly constituency, has been remanded in judicial custody till March 3 in connection with an alleged Rs 5 lakh bribery case.
The order was passed by a special court for public representatives in Bengaluru after the Lokayukta police arrested Lamani along with two of his personal assistants on Saturday. He was brought from Gadag district to Bengaluru late Saturday night and produced before the court.
The case was registered following a complaint by contractor Vijay Pujar from Chinchali, who alleged that the MLA had demanded Rs 11 lakh to clear payments for a Minor Irrigation Department project. The Lokayukta police reportedly caught Lamani while he was accep...
