Kannur, Jan. 24 -- District Congress Committee (DCC) President Martin George has demanded a comprehensive inquiry following revelation by CPI(M) district committee member V Kuttikrishnan, who alleged that the present Payyanur MLA, T I Madhusoodhanan, embezzled large sums of money from the Martyr's fund.
The fund was collected to support the family of Dhanaraj of Payyanur, who was killed in 2016.
In a DCC press release , George said the disclosure was a serious and open admission that exposed the "perverted face" of the CPI(M) leadership. He alleged that senior CPI(M) leaders, including Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan and then party state secretary Kodiyeri Balakrishnan, were aware of the fraud that took place in Payyanur.
