Dharamshala, Feb. 24 -- The District Magistrate Kangra has issued revised Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) regulating trekking activities in the district, partially modifying earlier winter restrictions imposed under Sections 33 and 34 of the Disaster Management Act, 2005.
The fresh order, issued on Tuesday, February 24, permits trekking during daytime only on three identified routes - Kareri Lake Trek, Triund Trek and Adi Himani Chamunda Trek. The decision follows a review of prevailing ground conditions and the onset of relatively stable weather, aiming to balance public safety with regulated tourism activities.
