Dharamshala, Dec. 27 -- The Additional Sessions Judge (ASJ) court of Kangra district at Dharamshala has dismissed the appeal of the accused in a cheque bounce case, upholding the conviction and sentence awarded by the lower court.
Additional Sessions Judge Sheetal Sharma, in her judgment, confirmed the order of the ACJM court of Kangra, which had two years ago convicted vegetable vendor Raje Syal under Section 138 of the Negotiable Instruments Act, 1881. The lower court had sentenced him to six months of simple imprisonment and directed him to pay Rs.12 lakh as compensation to the complainant.
