Tirupati, Feb. 8 -- The annual Brahmotsavams of Sri Kalyana Venkateswara Swamy at Srinivasa Mangapuram nere here commenced in a grand religious manner on Sunday with the sacred Dhwajarohanam ceremony held between 8.15 a.m. and 8.35 a.m. in the auspicious Kumbha Lagnam.
The ceremony was conducted as per Vaikhanasa Agama traditions amidst chanting of Vedic hymns by priests, auspicious musical instruments and continuous chanting of Govinda Nama by devotees.
Earlier, Tiruchi Utsavam was held from 6.30 a.m. to 8.15 a.m.,and later the priests performed Vishwaksena Aradhana, Vastu Homam, Garuda Linga Homam, Garuda Pratishta and Raksha Bandhanam.
Dhwajarohanam was performed by Kankanabhattar Balaji Rangacharyulu.
