New Delhi, Jan. 14 -- The Festival of New Choreographies-Kalayatra 2026 was inaugurated at Kamani Auditorium on Tuesday, marking the beginning of a five-day national celebration of Indian classical dance presented through contemporary choreographic works rooted in tradition.
Conceived and curated by Padma Vibhushan awardee Dr Sonal Mansingh, the festival brings together ten eminent dance institutions from across India.
It is jointly presented by the Department of Art, Culture & Languages, Government of NCT of Delhi, and the Centre for Indian Classical Dances (Shri Kamakhya Kalapeeth), highlighting a collaborative effort between cultural governance and artistic leadership.
