Chandigarh, Dec. 15 -- A kabaddi promoter was killed in a shooting incident during a live tournament in Punjab's Mohali district on Monday, sending shockwaves through the sporting community and raising serious security concerns.
The incident took place at a ground in Sector 82, Sohana, where a kabaddi match was underway, and a sizeable crowd had gathered. According to police, unidentified assailants arrived at the venue in a vehicle and opened fire, critically injuring tournament promoter and kabaddi player Rana Balachauria. He was rushed to a private hospital, where doctors declared him dead.
