Hyderabad, Feb. 21 -- Dr Justice (Retd.) Sanjaya Kumar Mishra, President of the Goods and Services Tax Appellate Tribunal (GSTAT), on Saturday inaugurated a half-day GSTAT Summit here and said the tribunal is designed to provide a transparent, efficient and fully digital platform for resolving GST-related appeals.

Addressing the gathering, Justice Mishra said several lakh appeals are expected to be filed before June 30, 2026, the notified cut-off date, and advised taxpayers and professionals not to wait until the last moment to file appeals.

He explained that GSTAT functions as the second appellate authority under the GST framework and will help reduce delays, litigation costs and the burden on High Courts.
