Chandigarh, Jan. 13 -- Reaffirming the Centre's focus on inclusive healthcare, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on Tuesday said the government remains committed to providing quality medical services to every citizen, with special attention to people living in remote and island regions of the country.

Addressing a nearly week-long Joint Services Multi-Speciality Medical Camp virtually, Singh said the initiative reflects the broader resolve of building a "Swasth Bharat" by strengthening healthcare access beyond urban centres. The camp, organised by the Indian Navy at the Indira Gandhi Hospital in Kavaratti, marked the first such large-scale tri-services medical outreach in the Lakshadweep islands.
