Paris, Feb. 27 -- Hollywood icon Jim Carrey was honored with the prestigious honorary award at the 51st edition of France's Cesar Awards on Thursday, delivering a heartfelt acceptance speech entirely in French, as reported by Variety.

The ceremony celebrated Carrey's decades-long contribution to cinema, recognizing him as an international star in the footsteps of last year's honoree, Julia Roberts.

Introduced on stage by director Michel Gondry, who helmed him in the 2004 classic Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Carrey reflected on his journey as an actor.
