Ranchi, Jan. 25 -- A new chapter will be added to Jharkhand's Republic Day celebrations this year as, for the first time since the formation of the state, the District Deputy Commissioner will hoist the national flag at the Republic Day function in Dumka.
The state-level ceremony will be held at the Police Lines Ground in Dumka, where all preparations have been completed.
Traditionally, the Chief Minister hoists the Tricolour on Republic Day in Dumka, the sub-capital of Jharkhand. However, this year Hemant Soren will be unable to attend the function due to his foreign visit.
