Deoghar, Feb. 12 -- Leader of Opposition Babulal Marandi on Thursday visited Babudih village under Jasidih police station limits in Deoghar district during his Godda tour, following a clash between police and local residents over a land acquisition issue.

Tension had prevailed in the area after a confrontation broke out between the administration and villagers protesting the acquisition of land reportedly being processed for industrial use.

According to Deoghar Sub-Divisional Officer (SDO) Ravi Kumar, the land in question had already been acquired by the government in 1977.
