Ranchi, Feb. 2 -- Widespread resentment has emerged among aspirants in Jharkhand following the decision of the Jharkhand Public Service Commission (JPSC) to deny age relaxation in the upcoming Combined Civil Services Examination. In protest, students and youth groups have announced a peaceful gherao of the JPSC office in Ranchi.

Student leader Satyanarayan Shukla said that in the 25 years since the formation of Jharkhand, civil services examinations have been conducted only a limited number of times, resulting in many eligible candidates crossing the prescribed age limit. He described the situation as a grave injustice to aspirants.
