Ranchi, Dec. 17 -- : International athlete Obami Murmu of Sports Authority of India, Ranchi, brought laurels to Jharkhand by winning the gold medal in the girls Under-17 long jump at the 69th National School Athletics Championship 2025.
The final was held on Wednesday at GGS Sports College, Lucknow, where Murmu clinched the top position with a best effort of 5.60 metres. Punjab's Khushpreet Kaur secured silver with 5.58 metres, while Kerala's Ananya S finished third with a jump of 5.42 metres.
Another Jharkhand athlete, Prithvi Oraon, also put up a creditable performance and finished seventh with a leap of 5.37 metres, reflecting the state's growing depth in athletics.
