Ranchi, Dec. 23 -- At a workshop organised by the Jharkhand CSO Forum, Hafizul Hassan, Water Resources Minister, Government of Jharkhand, announced a decisive initiative to formulate an inclusive irrigation policy aimed at strengthening irrigation systems across the state.

The minister said Jharkhand does not face a shortage of water but suffers from inadequate water management, adding that the proposed policy will focus on rainwater conservation, retention, and efficient delivery to agricultural fields, with special emphasis on small, marginal, and women farmers, benefitting nearly 30 lakh farmers statewide.
