Ranchi, Feb. 13 -- The Jharkhand High Court has put an interim stay on the ongoing eviction drive in the Madhukam area along Ratu Road in Ranchi, providing significant relief to families facing demolition of their houses.
The matter was heard on Friday in the court of Justice Rajesh Shankar. During the hearing, the affected parties, including Raunak Kumar, Sarita Devi and others, filed an intervention petition seeking an immediate halt to the eviction proceedings.
The petitioners contended that their houses were being demolished without adequate hearing or alternative rehabilitation arrangements, pushing several families to the brink of homelessness.
