Ranchi, March 30 -- The Jharkhand High Court has taken suo motu cognisance of the death of a 12-year-old girl in suspicious circumstances in Vishnugarh police station area of Hazaribag district, with police probing allegations of sexual assault and murder, and registered the matter as a Public Interest Litigation (PIL).
A division bench headed by Justice Sujit Narayan Prasad treated the matter as serious and impleaded the Director General of Police, the Home Secretary and the Senior Superintendent of Police, Hazaribag, as parties in the case.
Advocate Dheeraj Kumar said the court had registered the suo motu proceedings as a PIL.
