Ranchi, March 20 -- The Jharkhand High Court has set aside orders of revenue authorities in a land restoration case in East Singhbhum, holding that the petitioners' title and possession were supported by documentary evidence.
Allowing the writ petition, Justice Sanjay Kumar Dwivedi quashed the order dated November 22, 1994 passed by the Deputy Commissioner, East Singhbhum in appeal, along with the order dated June 6, 1986 of the Land Reforms Deputy Collector, Ghatshila.
The case related to land in Mouza Kani Mahali, where the petitioners claimed rights on the basis of a settlement made in 1939 by the then proprietor of Dhalbhum Estate, followed by a registered patta in 1940 in favour of their predecessor.
