Ranchi, Nov. 18 -- Jharkhand Health Minister Dr. Irfan Ansari, who is also Chairman of the state Haj Committee, said that efforts are underway to ascertain whether any pilgrims from Jharkhand were among the 42 people who died in an accident involving Umrah pilgrims travelling from Mecca to Medina in Saudi Arabia.

The horrific collision between a bus and a tanker truck claimed the lives of 42 people.

In a condolence message, Dr. Ansari described the incident as extremely painful and heartbreaking. He extended his deepest sympathies to the bereaved families who lost their loved ones in the tragedy.
