Ranchi, Feb. 4 -- Jharkhand Leader of the Opposition, Babulal Marandi, on Wednesday alleged that corruption and mismanagement under the Hemant Soren-led government have pushed the state to the brink of financial bankruptcy, with the education department lacking sufficient funds even to pay salaries.
In a social media post, Marandi alleged that the financial condition of the education department has deteriorated to such an extent that it is unable to meet its basic obligations.
Marandi claimed that in 10 districts of the state, high school teachers have not received their salaries for the past six months. He further alleged that salary dues amounting to Rs 6.18 crore are pending for 161 teacher-employees.
