Srinagar, March 27 -- Two weeks after Itihad-ul-Muslimeen (IUM) was banned by the Centre, Jammu and Kashmir police registered an FIR against the group after "credible intelligence" found that certain leaders and members of the group continue to involve in ''anti-national'' activities.
The FIR was registered in Police Station Pattan in Baramulla district against individuals found involved in unlawful activities despite a ban on their organization.
On March 11, the Centre banned two Awami Action Committee (AAC) headed by Kashmir's chief cleric Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and JKIM led by Masroor Ansari - for five years for their alleged anti-national activities.
