Srinagar, Nov. 6 -- Jammu and Kashmir Police today arrested a married man for allegedly using social media to lure a young woman from Ganderbal with false promises of marriage, and kidnapping her. Police traced the couple to Himachal Pradesh and rescued the woman from his clutches.
The young woman's father had filed a complaint of kidnapping on November 3 after his daughter left home.
Police said acting on specific input, a special police team from Police Post Shadipora Ganderbal traced their mobile phone and apprehended the accused, Firdous Rustum Khan, of Shatigam, Handwara, and the young woman, while they were in Himachal Pradesh.
