Jammu, Sept. 21 -- Continuing its relentless drive against drug trafficking Police apprehended two drug peddlers in Banihal area of Ramban district of Jammu and Kashmir.

Police spokesman said that during a routine naka checking operation, a police team from Police Station Banihal intercepted two individuals moving suspiciously from Banihal Railway Station towards the market area.

Upon conducting a search, the team recovered a total of 21.284 kilograms of poppy straw from the possessions of Ajay, resident of Balmiki Mohalla, Tanda, Hoshiarpur, Punjab from whom 11.252 Kgs of contraband was recovered and Raman Kumar, resident of Chak Kasim, Dasuya, Hoshiarpur, Punjab - from whom 10.032 Kgs of contraband was recovered.
