Jammu, Feb. 10 -- Jammu and Kashmir Police today arrested a man for disrespecting the National Flag in Doda district of Jammu and Kashmir.
Police said they have taken immediate cognizance of an incident involving the dishonouring of the Indian National Flag, which came to light after a video went viral on social media platforms,In the video, a person namely Farooq Ahmed of Nagri, Doda, was allegedly seen cleaning the window glass of his house using the Indian National Flag.
The act prima facie amounts to an offence under Section 2 of the Prevention of Insult to National Honour Act, 1971, which strictly prohibits any act that disrespects the dignity of the National Flag, they said.
