Srinagar, March 3 -- In a significant step to combat terrorism, Police have attached a residential house of a terrorist associate under Unlawful Activities Prevention Act (UAPA) in Jammu Kashmir's Shopian district on Monday.

Police have identified the terrorist associate as Ilyas Ahmad Dar, a resident of Wandina Melhoura whose double storey residential property has been attached under Section 25 of the UAPA Act, 1967.

The property registered under Khasra No. 115 in Wandina village, is valued at Rs. 24,09,221. The attachment has been officially recorded in the revenue records, and the necessary legal notices prohibiting its sale or transfer have been duly issued under the provisions of the UAPA, police said.
