Srinagar, Feb. 25 -- Police have arrested two drug peddlers in separate incidents and recovered more than 10 Kgs of contraband substance from their possession in Kashmir valley.

Police on Tuesday said that in its drive against the drug smugglers and peddlers, it established a surprise checking at Narbal Sozieth Bund and intercepted a vehicle which tried to flee from the spot but was apprehended.

During checking, a substantial quantity of 910 grams of heroin-like substance was recovered from the driver of said vehicle.

The accused has been identified as Ishtiaq Ahmed Khowaja a resident of Dildar Karnah Kupwara and was subsequently arrested. The vehicle used in the commission of crime has also been seized.
