Jammu, March 17 -- Jammu and Kashmir Anti-corruption Bureau on Tuesday booked and arrested a meter reader of Power Development Department (PDD) in a bribery case.
The ACB spokesman here said that a case has been registered against Arif Iqbal, presently posted as Meter Reader in PDD Rajouri at Police Station ACB Rajouri on the basis of a complaint wherein it was alleged that that the complainant was running a Tyre Shop from the year 2019 to 2021, after which his shop was closed.
He has an electricity connection and was regularly paying his electricity bill.
He received an electricity bill for the period from 31.12.2025 to 31.01.2026 for an amount of Rs 2497 in February 2026.
