Amravati, Jan. 25 -- Janardanpant Bothe, a close associate and longtime aide of Rashtrasant Tukdoji Maharaj, has been conferred the Padma Shri award for his contribution in carrying forward the legacy and social philosophy of the revered saint.
The announcement, made by the union government, has been welcomed by his followers.
Bothe currently serves as the General Secretary of the All India Shri Gurudev Seva Mandal.
He has been associated with Gurukunj Mojri Ashram for several decades and has played a key role in spreading the thoughts of Rashtrasant Tukdoji Maharaj, particularly those articulated in the Gramgeeta, which emphasizes rural development, social reform and village self-reliance.
