Shillong, Dec. 21 -- Former Meghalaya Home Minister James Sangma, who is also the elder brother of Chief Minister Conrad Sangma, has been elected as the new President of the Meghalaya Cricket Association (MCA).
Sangma will be supported by new Vice-President Rajiv Bareh, while Rayonald Kharkamni returns as Honorary Secretary.
The Honorary Joint Secretary is Mebanphira Swer, Honorary Treasurer Eddystone Shylla and Apex Council Member Chuba R Marak.
The electoral process began with the notice for conduct of the general election on November 19 followed by publishing of the electoral roll on November 27, with nominations filed on December 1.
All nominations were found to be valid, though one person withdrew his candidacy on December 2.
